1 Hart, 1 Mind, 1 Future

1 Hart, 1 Mind, 1 Future is Hartlepool’s parent carer forum. We are a constituted group formed in 2009 with the objective of representing families who have children with Special Educational Needs across Hartlepool. Working alongside local authorities and service providers we give feedback with a view to ensuring that all children in Hartlepool with special and additional needs have the best possible outcomes. Our families have been hit hard during the covid-19 pandemic. Many families have not had access to their respite care, special needs groups and general support within the community. As a group we have organised many activities for the children and their families over zoom. The children have thoroughly enjoyed all of our ‘zoom’ art sessions and have done some fantastic work that is currently displayed on our website. As we move out of lockdown we want the children to look to a ‘brighter future’. We have secured exhibition space with our local Museum Christ’s Church and we are hoping to put on a special 6 week art programme for our children. This will be ran within the museum and with a specialist arts teacher. The funding will help pay for all art materials, plus room hire and the art sessions themselves. This would be such a wonderful opportunity not only for our families but also our local community.
