1ST HARTBURN SEA SCOUTS GROUP
Stockton
We are approaching our 100th year celebration in 2021 and we find that our Scout Hut is in need of a new roof and various other maintenance work. The hut was originally build by parent volunteers and is made of single brick. Over the years we have tried to maintain the hut to ensure that the group have somewhere to meet but it now is showing its age and is desperately in need of a full refurbishment.
The group has had quotes to replace our deteriorating roof and additional desperately needed internal work that will cost us in excess of £30,000. We also need work carrying out on the external walls, with cladding to insulate the singe brick walls and future proof the building. We have problems with water damage on the walls due to the guttering falling to bits but we can’t replace it due to the status of the roof. We would also like to replace the kitchen and toilets and bring our building kicking and screaming into the 21st century.
We have been fund raising and so far have raised just over £10,000. The fundraising has been slow and a lot of hard work, we are asking for help to safeguard the future of our group as we are the only sea scout group in the area. We would be grateful of any donation towards the well overdue refurbishment of our scout hut.
