2nd Peterlee Scouts Group

2nd Peterlee Scouts is a diverse youth led group that offers children and young adults the chance to develop their skills whist co-operatively working as part of a team within the local community.

Involvement in the community is paramount to our group and we hold regular events where we actively encourage the local community to come and join us.

We have worked tirelessly on the grounds surrounding our hut to create a more welcoming and environmentally friendly area for all to enjoy. We have built a camp fire area with grass mounds so we can gaze at the night sky or have a fab sing-song. We have built Bug Hotels to encourage local wildlife to move into our grounds. Everyone constantly tries to maintain the grounds to make it more accessible and environmentally friendly for the local community and wildlife to enjoy.

We are developing the land to the side of our Scout Hut and require funding to create a meadow so we can support a vital feeding habitat for local wildlife. We are also planning a vegetable patch so we can all learn more about sustainability. We would like to build mini ponds so that everyone can enjoy pond dipping, engaging and inspiring us all.
