Beamish and East Stanley cricket
Durham
Our club is emerging itself as a true community hub, offering multi sport activity to a wide section of our community. This is increasing physical activity levels for key target groups and supporting health and well being through our members and supporters.
We offer four senior and six junior cricket teams, we’ve had recent interest to start a ladies cricket team. This interest has come from mother’s of the junior cricketers and their friends.
As the club seeks to successfully reopen after lock down, these teams need cricket practice and practice equipment is desperately needed.
We propose to deliver three weekly practices sessions to Ladies, Juniors and Adults, in an attempt to increase our membership levels by inviting new participants to these sessions.
All facility hire costs would be funded by the club and coaches would be volunteers, all funding awarded would be used to purchase new coaching equipment and promotional resources.
The club is located within an area of significant social and economic deprivation, where these target groups in the past have been hard to reach.
Following local and national lock down due to Covid-19, there is no better time to engage with the wider members of our community in sport and leisure activities to promote and increase positive emotional well being to our local area.
