Butterwick Hospice Kidz Club
Durham
Butterwick House Hospice, Stockton offers a very warm welcome to babies, children, teenagers, young adults. Most of the children who come to Butterwick House need round the clock care – 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Some children and young adults come for the day; many come for a short break either by themselves or with their family. The care team are fully trained professionals who provide holistic care to the whole family including brothers, sisters, auntie’s, uncles and grandparents.
Butterwick Kidz Club offers bereavement and loss counselling to children across Stockton & Tees Valley from the age of 2 and much needed support for their parents and carers. Our counselling includes art and play therapies as well as home visits, 1-2-1 and group sessions. All are age appropriate and suited the what the individual needs. All of our services are provided free to everyone who needs them regardless of their personal circumstances,
We believe every moment counts and families need support so they can make the most of their time together and continue their bereavement journey. There are lots of fun things for children and young people to do such as playing games, using specialist computers, enjoying arts and crafts and using our special hydrotherapy pool. Young people can just chill out, perhaps in the multi-sensory room or our sensory garden.
With your support we would use the grant to provide a Christmas party for the children who use Kidz Club.
