Durham
Epic Teesside CIC was formed in September 2016, it is a social inclusion project with the acronym standing for Engagement, Participation, Inclusion & Collaboration. We are the leagal entity in the Primrose Hill Community Partnership (PHCP) which icludes local groups and organisations that live or have worked in the area including Rock Of Ages Church an African Faith Group, Primrose Hill Footbal Club,Epic Teesside, Afro Dance Accademyand Stockton Residents & Community Groups Association.
The area suffers high levels of crime and anti social behaviour and open drug dealing and is the second most deprived Ward in Stockton. the last 18 months 70 migrant familes have been moved onto the estate with no formal support to intergrate into community life. We have been delivering football, scholl holiday programmes without a community faclity until we recently re opened the community centre which has been dormant for 7 years on a 3 year lease, this will lead to an asset transfer.
Stockton Council have made significant improvements to the building including a new heating system and roof repairs. The 13 Group the main socail landlord have installed a new kitchen given the building a new paint job which has led to an opening event attended by The Mayor and community activities attended by 200 plus familes and young people.
We are curretly delivering a summer programme including a playscheme from the Centre. We are desparate for new equipment for young people and community use.Our approach demonstrates both inovation and teamwork through our partnership.
