At Forest Friends Childcare we follow the Reggio Emilia Approach to childcare. We are a new, family run business who are passionate about Early Education. Having been open just one year in September, we continue to improve daily and strengthen relationships between parents and the community. We currently have good relationships with two care homes within the community which we take the children to weekly.

We have a strong focus on outdoor learning.  After recently creating a separate baby outdoor space, we are now looking to focus on our toddler garden area. We are fortunate enough to have a large outdoor space and we are now looking to embed the Forest School ethos further into our setting by creating a purpose-built area.

In conjunction with our own fundraising, we are applying for the grant which would be used towards creating a safe place to include all children outdoors, developing our area with an all-weather space which we could then invite our care home friends to join in our learning. We would love to buy resources for a new dipping pond and fire pit for our Forest Programme.

This would be benefit our children as outdoor learning supports other areas of development and further promotes team work and problem-solving skills. This grant would enhance our area to allow children to continually explore the outdoor world safely, investigating surrounding wildlife and allow us to build our vision of creating unique and exciting learning opportunities and environments to make education fun for all.
