Friends of Benton Park Primary School

Playtime is one of the most important parts of any child’s school day. It is when friendships are made, new games learned and team sports are played. Most importantly children are allowed to let off steam enabling them to concentrate better when they return to the classroom. Though the biggest asset to a successful playtime is imagination, a constant supply of toys and equipment is vital to keep the children active and engaged. Even with the most careful supervision balls are burst, skipping ropes get knotted and hula hoops are bent out of shape. Replacing damaged equipment is constant and expensive.

School budgets are under ever greater pressure and funding for active playtimes can be seen as an expensive luxury. Paying for play equipment often falls to parents and carers. A grant of £250 would enable us to provide a huge amount of toys and sports equipment keeping our children active and happy.
