Friends of Deafhill Primary School & Community Group
Durham
We are a group of volunteers who believe in bringing a community together, engaging young people through Community Projects and opening our school to the community. We are from a deprived area with no after school activities or a place to be empowered. We work with all our classes asking them what they want as new experiences which is something that 95% of our residents with young people can not afford to to do.
Our young people enjoy mixing with local residents and helping the vulnerable for something as simple as sending a letter to providing them with pie and pea dinners.
Our young people thrive on new experiences such as colour runs, pantomimes, a circus, fairground rides and listening to music which is just some of the things we have brought to Trimdon Station in the past.
We aim to continue to this work and give young people of Trimdon the best possible life experiences we can.
