Grangetown boys club Award Icon Winner

Redcar & Cleveland

I currently run Grangetown boys club academy which has 47 kids aged from 3 to 7 which is a mixture of boys and girls. Alongside this I do a autistic and learning disabilities group which has 24 kids again aged between 4 and 8 these groups is all about fun and engagement to each other in a safe environment we use a variety of equipment which always needs replacing due to heavy numbers.

I also run grangetown boys club u9s who are in the tjfa alliance this group are fantastic with abilities from very basic to very good I have girls on this team also I am currently organising a football tour to Skegness next May taking 25 players this will be their first trip away. I aim to use this as a bonding session and plenty of different activities which will run alongside the tournament.

Grangetown is a very poor area with unemployment very high. What I try to do is help by taking these kids under my supervision and give kids the fun they don’t get. Please consider Grangetown boys club for part of the grant we would be so honoured and would imensly help us carry out things we need.

We are desperate for funds towards the groups to buy footballs bibs and goal posts for the academy. I teach football and encourage the academy to do homework this is a very deprived area with a lot of unemployment and the main focus is to take the kids and give them as much fun as possible with companies now struggling we are finding funding really difficult I would be so grateful with my groups which have 127 kids boys and girls and it would benefit them immensely.
