We are an educational service which specialises in the STEM subjects – we are fully qualified scientists and very experienced teachers. We work across the whole north east of England from Northumberland to Teeside. We aim to inspire people (especially youth’s) into STEM based subjects and ignite that spark of interest. We deliver after school clubs, national curriculum workshops, non-national curriculum (engaging and enriching) workshops, teacher CPD, training, science parties and assemblies. We are constantly purchasing new supplies of consumables to assist us with the delivery of these sessions and also non consumables which can be reused over and over again. We would love to receive £250 to allow us to purchase some non consumable equipment such as conical flasks, test tubes, plasma ball, vacuum pump etc – basically anything we can use in our sessions which help bring the subjects to life. We deliver lots of hands on, practical activities to encourage curiousity, investigation and interest and develop basic skills. We work with children aged from 3+ years old. This equipment that we would purchase would benefit a number of youths across the region, as they wouldn’t be limited to just one activity. We believe that if we want to develop a love of these subjects in others, they need to experience it first hand and we are able to provide our expertise to facilitate this. We aim to make STEM subjects relevant and put these into everyday context. This £250 grant would benefit a large number of children.
