We are trying to raise £3.500 to take the cadets to Plymouth in July/ August 2019

The cadets will travel down to HMS Raleigh in Plymouth where they will spend 1 week learning about life in the Royal Navy. They will be supported by adult volunteers from TS JAMES COOK and the staff from HMS Raleigh.

Cadets will experience things that would not experience in our locality and hopefully encourage them to apply for a career with the armed forces.

Whilst away the cadets will experience real life scenarios, meet serving naval personnel, learn new skills and hopefully make new friends. They will be supported by adult volunteers who are taking time out of their own busy lives to support these young people. There will be chance for the cadets to go sailing, climbing, walking, swimming, damage control, water safety, ships visits and learn about the history of the Royal Navy. The whole cadet experience is all about having fun, learning new skills and meeting new people.

HMS Raleigh is a fully working Naval new entry establishment and the expectation on behaviour and attitude is high, therefore the cadets need to be of smart appearance and well mannered. We intend to purchase some polo shirts this will enable us to be more high profile for safeguarding and the cadets will also look smart. This will also elevate some of the social anxiety amongst some of the less fortunate cadets who would not be able to purchase new clothing for the trip.
