Harlow Green Code Club

We are submitting our application on behalf of Harlow Green Community Primary School, a large primary school in the center of Gateshead.

We would like to buy some resources to enhance learning at our after school Code Club. The Code Club has recently been set up at Harlow Green to further enhance our children’s skills in programming. The club is run after school by a teacher from the school and a volunteer parent. We hope that the club will be able to offer extra curricular activities to both key stage one and key stage two pupils over the academic year. If we are lucky enough to receive the funding, we would like to purchase some BBC microbits and accessories to enhance the children’s skills in block based digital programming.

Teachers, parents, students, governors and local community are all very aware of how important digital skills are to everyday education and preparing the children for secondary school and modern digital life. We have a wonderfully supportive local community but resources are limited, especially since government funding was reduced for schools.We hope you will help us by voting for our project.
