Hartlepool

We would use the grant to renew our dated playing kit. We have match balls with no grip, post protectors that are falling apart and flags that are not fit for purpose. We have recently secured a 125 year lease on our pitch which gives us more scope to improve it, the downside of this is that we are now responsible for any repairs that need carrying out, including pitch maintenance. We are a small rugby club, fielding one men’s team at the moment, with the acquisition of the pitch (which was the first pitch in England to host New Zealand, and also hosted the first ever Barbarians game), we hope to expand to a second adults team and a junior/women’s section but for this we need to be an attractive proposition to potential recruits. Having decent kit available could be the difference between some one choosing ourselves or another team. In January we lost our Captain and coach, Andrew Arnell, to pancreatic cancer so we hope to include a memorial to him on any equipment we can source.

Thanks for taking the time to read this.
