Hartlepool Rovers
Hartlepool
This application is to support the growth of female rugby in Hartlepool
Since starting with 5 girls a few years ago we have grown to have 3 girls teams and 1 ladies team. We operate in one of the most disadvantaged wards of Hartlepool and many of our participants come from challenging backgrounds.
As well as bringing together ladies and girls from a wide variety of backgrounds to get healthier and more active we look to instil in them rugby’s core values of Teamwork, Respect, Enjoyment, Discipline and Sportsmanship. We give them a purpose and something to aim for and achieve. Venators aims for the Together Fund are the same aims Hartlepool Rovers has. Our success however means that we are always facing financial challenges in providing equipment and meeting travel and training costs
Finally perhaps one of the best ways to show what we do is to view this video by one of our members describing what it is like for her to belong to a team and a community based rugby club – https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/get-inspired/43286428
I do hope you can help us to continue to grow and help more ladies and girls like Alex.
If Hartlepool Rovers were successful in their request for a grant from the Venator Community Fund it would be used towards purchasing the following equipment for our women and girls rugby teams.
* Team strips
* balls
* training bibs
* cones
* resistance bands for strength training
