Hartlepool

Hartlepool RFC junior section continues to go from strength to strength. Having started off 15 years ago with less than 30 members, we now have in excess of 150 playing children and 30 volunteer coaches who together as one section represent the “Old Boys” on a Sunday morning. These ages range from under 5’s to under 18’s and we are one of only a few clubs in the region to have teams representing the junior section in all but 1 age group – under 15’s boys.

HRFC do not charge children to play rugby and are the only club in Hartlepool and the surrounding with a “Kids play free” policy, a policy we are very proud of.

Our catchment area means we have a vast majority of children from under privileged families; being able to offer free rugby means children are given the opportunity to play competitive sport without the worry of affordability.

If successful, the money would help HRFC continue to provide this fantastic service to our surrounding community with the hope of expanding it further and building an U15’s side for next season. Taster sessions and a recruitment drive is already underway to try and register a U13 and U15 junior side for girls for the first time in the clubs history, an innovation that we are working hard with to provide a legacy of rugby for girls in Hartlepool.

HRFC appreciate the importance in nurturing the youth of today, in order to build a sustainable future.
