Hartlepool

Our community based rugby club, formed in 1893 is a central part of the local community. Mayfield Park sees 250 junior members and 160 members train and play on it’s pitches each and every week. We also have excellent partnership links with schools, colleges and Durham County who regularly use our facilities.

Over the last 5 years, we have a tremendous growth in junior playing numbers and one of the significant factors for the growth is we do not charge children to play or train at Hartlepool Rugby Football Club which is an unique offer in rugby and sporting circles. We are committed to making rugby affordable for the local community .

This season we have added 2 new girls teams and 1 senior ladies team which together with the existing 12 junior teams and 3 senior teams have put tremendous strains on the existing facilities which are 20 year old and are simply not fit for purpose and are inadequate for simultaneous use for girls and boys rugby.

The proposed project is to upgrade the changing rooms facilities which will allow us to continue to grow and encourage wider participation.
