Kayak Northumbria

Kayak Northumbria are a canoe club based in Newcastle upon Tyne made up of young enthusiastic kayakers ranging from complete beginners to advanced paddlers. We can usually be found paddling white water, training in the pool or completing in various polo tournaments all over the country.

We would like to apply to the Together Fund to subsidise the cost of something different to what we normally do and organise a paintballing trip. This is something that our members have said they would like to do together and would be a great team building day out. We will aim to organise the trip within the first couple of months of the new season so that new members are able to gain confidence and to get to know everyone better, making us closer as a group and improving our team work off the water in addition to on the water. It will also give our student members an opportunity to further make friends away from their University courses and halls.

Team building days such as this are important to us as a club and are part of making the club what it is today. Socials are a really important part of integrating our new members to the team and we want to ensure that we go above and beyond and provide social opportunities that everyone within our club will enjoy. If we are awarded the grant money, our dedicated social officers will ensure that a fantastic day is organised for all.
