North Tyneside

We are a local charity based in Wallsend, working across North Tyneside supporting people of all ages who have a learning disability, many of whom have physical disabilities, mental health needs and often other challenges.
Our primary aim is to help the people we support to lead meaningful and fulfilling lives, making sure they have access to opportunities many of us take for granted. We support people to make friends, have some fun in their lives and to feel good. This can include taking part in activities that support health, well-being and safety and to help people to live as individuals, being in control of everything they do. An important part of our work is making sure people are connected, which we know has significant impact on health and well-being. Many of the people we work with tell us that our support is life changing and for some, life saving.
Our Community Inclusion Programme offers people the opportunity to develop skills to tackle everyday issues like keeping safe, keeping healthy and keeping involved. The programme offers community based activities, workshops and individual support focused on achieving outcomes in line with each person’s goals. We would love to apply for funding to be able to buy some sports equipment such as boccia sets, footballs, tennis rackets, etc. to use when we run our community based sports and fitness activities.
