Levendale Primary School PTA

We are Levendale Primary School PTA and we are applying to Venator’s Community Fund for the chance to improve our performance space within school. Levendale is a family-orientated one form entry school on the outskirts of Yarm. In recent years, due to funding cuts, the school have found it increasingly difficult to pay for renovations that would enhance the learning experiences for the children. Levendale PTA bridge the gap through fundraising activities and the Venator fund would greatly assist us in updating our performance area, primarily the hall curtains which would be renewed to black-out curtains to enhance the theatre experience for both the children and the audience.

In a world where children are inundated with technology and struggle with confidence, moments that bring them together outside the academic learning environment like the school performances do really make a big difference to the children. They look forward to the chances created, find their voices and perform from harvest festivals to Christmas plays right through to the weekly assemblies which is why we feel a space they can be proud of to display their work is important in so many ways.

The hall is also used by local community groups including Levendale Association who run events within the hall such as barn dances and guest speaker nights and the update in curtains will give them a smart and professional space. The refurbishment of the hall will encourage further local community groups to use the space for events and for future generations.
