Marton Community Centre Group Award Icon Runner Up

Middlesbrough

Marton Community Centre opened its doors 25 years ago and has the same volunteers running the centre today. We bring people TOGETHER who might otherwise experience social isolation such as the elderly; people living alone, single parents or those with SEN’s or a disability.

The centre is a safe, warm and clean place where Middlesbrough’s residents come TOGETHER to meet friends old and new and through the many classes, such as Zumba, Sewing, Crafting, Bowls, Table Tennis and more, learn new skills, share knowledge or simply come for a cup of tea at the volunteers monthly coffee morning.

Acting as a hub, we keep people updated with social and other services, facilities and events in and around the local borough on notice boards and a Facebook page “Marton Community Centre Group”

By bringing people of all ages TOGETHER, we help with; Community Cohesion; Combat and Identify Isolation and Loneliness; Help to prevent Anti Social Behaviour and try to maintain affordability and keep the doors open to everyone who visits for years to come.

If we are successful with this grant, it will go toward painting the exterior of the building making sure it looks a welcoming place for people to come in and be TOGETHER. Thank you for taking time to read. Quick overview of what we do.
