Marton Whites U12s Football Team

We are a group of 13 11year old boys who play grassroots football together. We are made up from all over the region, Whitby, Northallerton and primarily Middlesbrough. These boys would not ordinarily mix together but are brought together by their love of football. Some of these boys have played together since the age of 5ys however each season has brought new players and new challenges for teambuilding. As a parent and Secretary for the team I see in reality a direct link between their teambuilding activities and their performance on the pitch and the enjoyment they get from this which is why I thought it relevant to apply for this grant. We are self funded and fundraise to cover pitch and referee fees, kits, balls. Once all these are paid for it does not leave much over for extra curricular fun activities which I believe forms the team bond and reflects so well on the pitch. We have 2 dedicated volunteers in the form of a team manager and team coach that give up their time week in and week out to provide a session training and a match every week. Our boys are also at the age now where technology in the form of gaming consoles is starting to restrict them. We want to keep them active, healthy playing a sport they love with their friends. This grant would help us to achieve this.
