Middlesbrough & Cleveland Harriers Award Icon Runner Up

Redcar & Cleveland

Middlesbrough & Cleveland Harriers is one of the oldest running clubs in the region, having celebrated it’s 125th anniversary in 2018. The friendly club is welcoming to runners of all abilities and is affiliated to England Athletics. Members compete in the local North Yorkshire South Durham track and cross country leagues, as well participating in local and national road races and fell running.

The club hosts a popular annual cross country race in the local league and provides a variety of training to runners of all abilities. We also have a number of members who regularly marshal at local races and we are looking to provide funding for these members to attend an officials course and become qualified officials enabling them to officiate in various roles without which races cannot go ahead.

This will benefit club members as well as runners from around the region as our qualified officials will be able to help at various events around the region, contributing to the continued success of the local running scene.

A £250 grant would allow the club to fund three members to achieve officials qualifications, and would also contribute towards purchasing new equipment to enable the club to continue hosting top quality cross country races, benefiting club members, the local cross country league and the wider running community.
