Middlesbrough

Middlesbrough Roller Hockey Club was established in 1947, the club is affiliated to the National Roller Hockey Association. There are over 50 members, ranging from age 6 through to age 53, and from complete beginners who have never skated through to the England Captain!

The club successfully competes at both a regional and national level across the full range of age groups (U9, U11, U13, U15, U17 and Seniors). All teams consist of both male and female members and all age groups train together on Wednesdays at Middlesbrough Sports Village (one of only two purpose built rinks in the UK) and Fridays at the Rainbow Centre.

This funding will be used to purchase recruitment materials (pop up banners) to attract new members and to purchase resources to introduce a buddying system that would support new and existing members; help build relationships throughout the club, develop confidence and give a sense of responsibility to the older members, as well as providing role models to the younger members.

Our friendly club is actively recruiting new members of all ages from across Teesside and will use this funding to leverage an additional £500 match funding to purchase some more skates to go with the small inventory of existing equipment (skates, sticks, gloves, and knee pads) that the club has for new members to try before committing to buying their own.

Thank you for considering our funding application, for more information about our club visit our facebook page or pop along to watch training.
