Middlesbrough Youth Theatre (MYT)
Middlesbrough
Middlesbrough Youth Theatre which was formally Middlesbrough Little Theatre Juniors has been working with youth in local areas and beyond for nearby 65 years.
Our aim has always been to make Performing Arts accessible to all, to make this achievable our leaders all work on a volunteer basis.
We aim not only to develop our students skills in all areas of Performing Arts but to develop group skills as well as individual, confidence and life skills.
We aim to put on a large scale production every year giving our students the opportunity to work in a professional theatre environment.
Our students are from many different backgrounds who have a passion for performing arts, whether it be acting, singing or dance, they come together to share their passion in a safe and friendly environment, creating lifelong skills and friendships along the way.
Middlesbrough Youth Theatre has many students who have gone to top London Stage Schools and now performing in West End shows and tours. Many who come along share their experiences with our existing students now.
Our aim at Middlesbrough Yourth Theatre has always been to make it accessible to everyone whatever their financial background so fundraising plays a massive part of helping us do this.
If Middlesbrough Youth Theatre were successful, the £250 grant would go towards the shows they are performing in November.
- Kidstage (ages 7 – 11) are performing Joseph
