Middleton St George Community Centre

Middleton St George, is a village situated near Darlington. The village is growing rapidly due to many new houses getting built. The Community Centre is experiencing increased use from hirers – fitness classes, children’s groups, monthly farmers market, parties. The committee hold large events throughout the year for the community -Summer Fair, Magic and Sparkle where the village Christmas Tree lights are switched on. The committee want to improve the safety, facilities, building and grounds for the community.The committee do many fundraising events to cover small amounts of work but the work that is required needs a large financial input.

The committee have started to raise for a defibrillator with fundraising events, but still require more funding to install this project – this could be a potential live saving piece of equipment. It would be positioned externally at the community centre which is in a central location of the village which would be accessible 24/7. This location is also close to other village facilities – Cricket Club, Water Park and on the main road which runs through the village.

If any funding was granted from yourselves it would make a huge difference to the ‘Hub’ of the village the Community Centre. Knowing that we have a life saving piece of equipment on site.
