North Tyneside

Mindstars support the children of North Tyneside, together with their parents and guardians. We support their mental health and wellbeing, removing the barriers that poverty and poor mental health brings.

Proactive early education in wellbeing is highly effective in reducing the long-term effects of mental health issues in adulthood. We believe taking a preventative approach and teaching children how to manage their emotional wellbeing from an early age is essential.

From removing barriers that stop children from accessing wellbeing support provisions and assisting NHS Services to reduce the strain on increasing waiting lists, we create a safe space for children to express themselves and feel empowered, and make a big impact to the families we reach.

Mindstars have been working with our community since March 2020, launching our Star Hub in response to the local needs identified over our consultations and the rising mental health crisis and pressures on the NHS services.

Our Star Hub based in North Shields provides children and young people aged 5-11 with support and activities focused on building resilience, self confidence, understanding emotions and gaining life skills, providing them with the vital tools they need to thrive.

With funding from Venator, Mindstars would be able to develop and release our free Parent & Carer Mental Health and Wellbeing Support Booklet, printed and digital, with your logo to share with families nationwide. The book will help many families who are currently struggling with managing their children’s wellbeing at home.
