Norton Hockey Club

Norton Hockey Club is a family orientated Men’s & Ladies club with members of all ages from 5 – 81. Over the last year our junior section has grown significantly and they benefited a lot from the Venator funding they received last year with them being able to buy more safety equipment allowing more juniors to train & play.

Our coaches have worked tirelessly promoting hockey in schools recently & are currently running Hockey for Heroes program supported by England Hockey which is aimed at encouraging juniors boys & girls aged 5-8 years old into hockey. Due to this we require more equipment to support the younger / smaller sized players for which we would are applying for more funding for.

The club are also actively encouraging older players into hockey including parents to interact with their children. Due to the success of the Men’s Over 40’s team winning the National Cup this year 2019, the first North East club to ever win it. This has inspired older players into the sport so the funding will also help buy equipment and sticks for them so they can try hockey and hopefully encourage them to regularly engage in sport so we are applying for funding for this

The funding will help Norton Hockey club so much by giving more people the opportunity to participate in sport & continue to grow our junior section.
