Page2stage Community Group is a not for profit Youth Theatre that supplies performing arts training and performance experience for all young people aged 5 – 18yrs in a bid to develop skills and build confidence in a safe, friendly and supportive environment. We have currently been accepted to take part in the National Theatre Connections competition which provides the team with a professional script, workshops with writers and directors from the National Theatre, a performance space to allow the students to ‘tour’ their work and the opportunity to win the chance to perform at the National Theatre in London. This project is fantastic in terms of strengthening the team and building their skills to the next level but comes with an fee to take part, also we need a budget for costumes, props, travel to our partner venue (can be scarborough or Newcastle) and costs to perform at our ‘home’ venue.

Opportunities like the connections project are invaluable to groups like ours, they raise their profile and therefore the groups self esteem, they allow the group to perform for other youth theatres from across the region as part of the tour and this in turn allow them to raise their aspirations as they perform to audiences wider than the usual friends and family and can see what the role of a touring performer entails. The Connections project costs around £1000 to complete and the team are fundraising to raise as much of this cost as possible, every little penny helps!
