Polish Saturday School in Darlington Award Icon Winner

Darlington

We are a charity and a community Saturday School based in Darlington. We offer an effective education of Polish language, history and culture for children with Polish background in age 5-16.

We understand that modern education is based on integration of many disciplines, so we put our creativity on the top level to encourage our pupils to new educational challenges.

Who says that you can build STEM Education only when you teach Math and Science? In Polish Saturday School in Darlington we plan STEM activities also when we teach history and geography and while we promote the culture and language of our community. We can build the ancient and modern city using many resources and tools! Becoming a group of engineers when you learn about the legends and stories? Why not? Children in Polish Saturday School in Darlington know how to use junk/papers/sticks and LEGO to create a world from the book… Groups can work through the challenges to achieve incredible results and have so much fun! We are full of bright ideas to encourage our pupils to use technology to record their team work and upgrade their own concepts.

If we were to win a £250 grant from the Bright Ideas Fund, we would buy new learning resources and equipment for our classrooms to inspire learning and support all our children!
