Prior’s Mill C of E Primary School

At Prior’s Mill, we are aiming to provide more engaging experiences of STEM subjects to children. We have introduced a new Engaging Science curriculum to enable children to work practically and develop their critical thinking and questioning skills. These skills are built upon year on year to scaffold the learning of each area of science.

Through discussions with children from across the school, they all expressed how they enjoy science, especially when it is practical based.

The funding would help us to be able to purchase much needed new resources for the teaching of Science. We would like to purchase items such as: rechargeable torches, energy sticks, new electric circuit sets and outdoor science resources etc. The resources would help to make the children’s learning of science fun and memorable.

A new concept of outdoor science lessons is being introduced soon and the resources will definitely help with this, providing resources to enhance the children’s learning of the world around them.
