St John the Baptist Primary School

We are a Church of England Primary School, situated in the Ragworth area. We have a strong focus on Inclusion and team work is vital to achieving this. Our School Improvement Plan has a focus this year of ensuring our children are healthy physically and emotionally. As part of this we want them to develop skills of resilience, positivity and stamina. These are all linked to team work and co-operation. Our children need to develop these skills both through the school day and at playtime and lunchtimes. As such, we would like the grant to buy more equipment and resources to promote team games at break times and for team activities within classrooms. Examples would include posters to give ideas for games to play, balls and bibs for netball games and resources to support circle time and theraplay games in the classroom (all of which focus on team work). We will involve our pupils (Classroom Champions and Pupil Leaders) in selecting resources as pupil voice is very important to us at St John’s.
