St Joseph’s RC Middle School

We are a school group based in Northumberland. We have 340 pupils from Year 5 to Year 8, 3 form classes in each year group.We run STEM weeks twice a year eg October 2018 was CSI week and involved cross curricular activities. We also ran a ‘Women in STEM’ day for all pupils. The pupils attended twelve workshops throughout the day. Each workshop was a women whose career was in a STEM subject

If we were to win a £250 grant from the Bright Ideas Fund, we would use the money to support or inspire learning in STEM subjects in the North East by enabling more opportunities for the pupils to learn about STEM and the opportunities available to them. It would enable us to pay for speakers/ guests/ workshops and resources so that we could deliver our own workshops for the pupils.
