Stokesley Hockey Club Award Icon Runner Up

Middlesbrough

I am applying for this community grant on behalf of Stokesley Hockey Club, a ladies club consisting of 3 senior squads and a lot of enthusiastic juniors.

Stokesley Hockey Club have been in existence for more than 50 years and, over the last 3 years, we have seen our club grow from strength to strength. We have Developed from being one team to three, all of which are in different leagues. Our first team are currently the highest ranked team in the surrounding area, this has been a fantastic advert for our team and we have seen an influx of both senior and junior players wishing to develop locally.

Without team work our club wouldn’t survive, we rely on the hard work of volunteers, coaches and parents combined to keep going and moving forwards. As you can imagine, a club growing at this rate requires extra equipment and kit in order to keep providing the coaching, that both the senior and junior players need.

If successful we would use the monies to purchase training aids, e.g., bibs, cones, balls and sticks. We believe that the single most important point to remember is to have fun! We make sure every game and practice is approached with a positive attitude and with lots of different activities, with the aim of keeping everyone on your team supportive of one another. A united team can overcome any obstacles they may face together!

We hope to hear from you soon. Thank you for your consideration.
