The white feather project was created to help vulnerable and elderly get hot meals.
Alan Chapman, Rachel Milburn and Mark Horkan founded the White Feather project from the White Feather Bistro. With Karen Beck on board the team is growing amazingly.
June 2020 the idea came to open the eco shop. Since then, Lynn Davies and Louise Giles joined the team and started doing food parcels for those isolating, in crisis and vulnerable. Later, Michelle Lord, Claire Hardy and Talie Norfolk have joined to make wonderful additions to our little team and without them we would be lost.
Two additional community hubs are now up and running with more on the way:
- The team help new mums with our now famous “baby bundles” everything a baby would need from birth in one package.
- Sanitary products free for all women.
- Free school meals for any child in Middlesbrough
- Christmas hampers
- Easter eggs
We work with some amazing groups such as My sisters place, the police & safeguarding teams, the council and schools. Our team have now earned a very respected reputation in Teesside which we will continue to grow and maintain.
We’ve now teamed up with Middlesbrough Council to help get food parcels to those in need in the Middlesbrough area to ensure we help a hunger free town.
The sky is the limit. Thank you for all the support given. Xx
