Williby Roc’s CIC
South Tyneside
Williby Roc’s is Community Interest Company that specialises in providing outdoor and community projects reconnecting children, families and groups back to nature. We run workshops, playgroups, school sessions, additional needs sessions, forest and coastal school, home education, mental health programmes and inter-generational activities where sustaining our natural world is at the heart of everything we do.
Both children and adults can explore their imaginations and take away ideas on how to reuse everyday waste items, making wonderful creations and magical memories. We will show you how to use natural resources to play and craft with which cost little or nothing to gather. We want to encourage outdoor play and discovery for everyone through fun and engaging sessions.
We are based at our site called Project Dirt which is located within Bilton Hall Community Trust and have developed the land to become a little oasis in the middle of the Low Simonside estate. This land is used by lots of different local community groups, schools and adult groups and we would like to continue the success by involving as much of the community as possible to help maintain and develop it.
We would like to apply for this funding to help us put on a volunteer day for the local community to get involved, work together as a team in the garden, meet new people and learn new skills. The money will go towards tools, refreshments and materials to help develop the Project Dirt Community Garden.
