Yarm Rugby Club
Stockton
Yarm Rugby Club serves the communities of Yarm, Eaglescliffe and Thornaby although players and volunteers come from various other areas across the North East.
We provide rugby training, matches and festivals for all ages and our numbers have increased over the past few years. We also provide community events such as an annual fireworks display which again continues to grow each year as the success of the events continue.
We have limited resources and make use of grant funding for most improvements at the club to ensure there is a base for all players, supporters and visitors to attend. In recent years we have successfully renovated the kitchen and the changing rooms through grant funding.
We use our own fund raising and sponsorship to ensure players have kit and safe and appropriate training equipment ensuring players develop and feel part of a team.
The funding is to be used for our major project. This involves the club working in partnership with a local secondary school and the local council to become the landlord and develop the current school playing fields for the benefit of the club, the school and the local community. The funding will be used to help with costs associated with this scheme.
By allocation the funding to this scheme it frees up funds to use for the day to day activities and maintenance at the club such as improving the ladies toilets, buying new equipment and maintaining the pitch.
