Communities Together Sunderland West

We are looking for funding to set up a youth club for 5-11-year-olds, in which we will work in partnership with Sunderland Bangladeshi and International Centre.

To provide multicultural activities

To break down barriers

To extend the hand of friendship

To improve mental health and wellbeing

As well as bringing two diverse communities together under one roof, on a regular basis, to learn about one another and grow together, through, sport, music, and communication.

We also work with Leisure United Ford Quarry Hub, which generously provides us space to grow, and has confirmed that they will now be charging a reduced charge of £25 for two hours of room and outdoor area hire. We will also continue to work with West Area Clean and Green environmental projects and Gentoo to continue our community litter picks, safety projects, and gardening projects involving the whole community. We also plan to have regular coffee mornings and afternoons, as well as health walks in the local area, with the support of clean and green and the NHS social prescribing team.
