We are a guide unit that has re-opened after a long break in Wylam, we currently have very little funding.
Working in small groups is one of the 5 essentials of girl guiding. Therefore teamwork is an attribute that we value highly.
If we were to be awarded this fund, we would use it to complete the Network and communicate skills builders, allowing the girls in our unit to develop their team working skills.
In the communicate skills builder we will cover body language, deaf friendliness, speaking styles and non-verbal communication.
In the network skills builder we will look at comfort zones, negotiation, personality types, relationships and thinking about the future.
The funding would allow us to complete these activities in our unit meetings and by the resources needed. It would also allow us to go on a trip and practice out teamwork skills in an activity like bell boats or night line at an outdoor activity centre.
